Who we are
This website is operated by Bold Kidswear Ltd ("Bold Kidswear", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13945691, registered office 42-44 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AH, England.
We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site. For questions about this policy or your data protection rights, contact privacy@boldkidswear.co.uk. For orders, returns and sizing, use support@boldkidswear.co.uk.
The short version
We use your data to process orders, deliver purchases, provide support and, with your permission, send you emails. We share it only with the providers who run our shop. We do not sell your data. You can ask us at any time to see it, correct it or delete it.
What we collect
When you shop or get in touch, we may collect: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number; your order history; your messages to us; your email address again if you join our free printables list; and technical information about how the site is used (see Cookies below).
We do not see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.
How we use it, and our legal grounds
To take your order, deliver it and help you with it, we process your data because it is necessary for our contract with you. To keep order records for 6 years, we process it to meet our legal obligations, such as tax law. To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and improve how the shop works, we rely on our legitimate interests. To send marketing emails, we rely on your consent, or, if you have bought from us, on the soft opt-in: we may email you about similar products, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers under contract, who process data only on our instructions:
Squarespace, our website and store platform (hosting, checkout, site analytics and our email list)
Stripe and PayPal, our payment processors (we never see or store full card numbers)
Royal Mail, our delivery partner
Google Analytics, which runs only if you consent to analytics cookies
We share only what each provider needs, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.
Reviews
After a purchase, we may email you to ask for a review of what you bought. Leaving one is optional, and it does not sign you up to marketing. If you choose to review us on an independent site such as Trustpilot, what you share there is covered by that site's own privacy policy.
Children
Our shop and emails are aimed at parents, carers, educators and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parts of our site, such as our character pages and free activity sheets, may be enjoyed by children alongside an adult, and we design that content with the ICO's Children's Code in mind. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact privacy@boldkidswear.co.uk and we will delete it.
How long we keep data
Orders: normally 6 years, for tax and accounting. Support messages: as long as needed to resolve your query. Marketing: until you unsubscribe or we remove inactive records. After that, we delete or anonymise it.
Cookies
Essential cookies run the basket, checkout and security, and are always on. Squarespace Analytics runs under the statistical purposes exception, and you can object at any time. Google Analytics runs only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw through our cookie banner. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie we use.
Security
We protect your data with HTTPS encryption, access controls and limited retention. No method is completely secure, but we work to prevent unauthorised access, alteration or loss.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to how we use it, including direct marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@boldkidswear.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will let you know, for example at checkout or by email. The latest version always lives on this page, with the date above.
